If Not, Why Not

Not that my work ethic is ever in question but lately I have been working my ass off, what with a full time job, a mission to get my 100 bans sites up, some domain flipping experiments, my blog and all the other blogs I oversee - not to mention link building for all of them too; I’m tired and very much in need of holiday, but very excited to see everything coming together. More importantly, the bans sites are making me money!! My thoughts are that if I put the work in TODAY, I will be able to afford to sit back TOMMOROW (well not quite tomorrow but in not the too distant future). I think I am a workaholic - there, I admitted it and it feels good!!!

In amongst all of that, and I recommend you all do this, I always find some time to visit my happy place online! What’s my happy place I hear you ask…………..why it’s PissBiscuit I reply!!!

If you have not become part of the PissBiscuit phenomenom then I would like to know why not? Having followed this blog since day one I am an avid fan and find it to be a really refreshing break from the norm. I’ve made friends there, I laughed (A LOT) and I have certainly learnt a few things in the 9 days or so that pissbiscuit has been live.

The reason I draw your attention to the piss biscuit is three fold.

Reason to read pissbiscuit number one: For a one week old blog, this will put many to shame. Any new bloggers want to how to do things……the standard has been set. I has a great, easy on the eye design and the owner of the blog provides great content and a superb commentary on his posts.

Reason to read pissbiscuit number two: I see this blog going from strength to strength and there is a rather sublime lesson on blog branding to be seen. As I said before, it provides a break from the norm, some light hearted fun, you get responses on every comment and you are sure to pick up some handy tips along the way.

Reason to read pissbiscuit number three: FREEEEEEEEBIES! I know for a fact that PB has lots of juicy prizes coming your way. Currently he is running an easy to enter competition to WIN TWO PREMIUM THEMES!

Need I say more? Just check out my blatantly obvious link below for further details and, starting today, become part of the pissbiscuit experience.

Wish I was a workaholic, well actually no but where is the motivation coming from in your case, $ or creation (ego)?

    What is bans sites?

P.s. I followed here by comment on PB, before you said it I thought PS was as old as using pink in a template, but I suppose it’s the writing giving off that impression.

    Hi Thor.

PB does write fantasically well doesn’t he! Thanks for stopping by my site….and in answer to your question, I have always had a strong work ethic. The money is a big factor but it is not my sole motivator. The thing I find about making money online is that for every one thing I do, I always find another two things I need to do. It is never ending.

Bans is a great program for building ebay affiliate websites easily. Take a look at a detailed description here http://theaffiliatepost.com/affiliatemarketing/27

Once again, thanks for visiting and let me know if you are keen to hear more about bans.

oh, and do you have a site of your own as I see you listed mine instead!

No I haven’t got any sites to show off, although I’ve had a gazillion of website ideas in the last few years, have registered two dozens domain names and signed up for a hosting account (that just collects dust).
That work ethic of yours, where do I subscribe to that?

LOL - perhaps if you keep reading some of it will rub off on you. Is sounds like you are just about set to get cracking with those sites. Maybe, like my ‘notes to pissbiscuit’ we could do a feature project on here with the aim of getting your sites up and running.

    What do you think?

My work ethic is usually in question! But at the moment, strangely, I’ve been working my arse off as well. I’ve put plenty of work in in the past and can probably coast if I want but I think I’ve been coasting for far too long and it’s time to put in more work today so that I can coast even more in the future. A month of work, four months of slacking… oh ya! Although I do love the work I do so slacking isn’t as fun as it sounds.

I’m interested as well in this BANS thing. Sounds interesting and I’ve come across a few bloggers who are making some nice cash with them.

Do you actually make money of Bans sites? I set a few up, ten to be exactly, and I pushed them very, very, hard. Bookmarking Demon, all that stuff, and I’m still only making maybe, if I am lucky, a dollar a week off of all of them combined. I was also discouraged when I discovered a free alternative to set it up through Wordpress. If the word free isn’t enough, consider this, the Bans software is very limited, with Wordpress you get all the functionality and flexibility of running a regular blog. I jumped on the Bans bandwagon because of Vic, and I have to say, I’m very disappointed.

@ Kirsty: I just read you post on reaching for the stars or slacking and think (as I said in a comment) that you should certainly reach for the stars). As much as I like the sound of one month on and four months off, I know it would drive me insane. I just like to get things done. Bans is good example of what I have in mind. Do the work now and then I can afford to sit back later. I had planned some further bans posts, so look out for a 101 guide just for you! Thanks for commenting.

@ Nick: Ahh, the sports debater!! Do I make money from bans, yes I do. My advice to you is this…Don’t expect results immediately as these are sites that I am building for ‘future passive income’ and nothing more. They are never going to make you a million dollars in one go but you will see the value of them in the longer term I promise. I know there is, and has always been alternatives but each to their own I say. Bans may be slightly limited but it works and so far as the functionality and flexibility of running a regular blog, that is not what bans is about. You want people to buy products, not read stories!

Anyway, feel free to email me and I would be happy to do a site analysis for you if you wish.

oh, and Nick….the thing about making money online (or in general) is not to put all your eggs in one basket. You probably know this already, but nothing beats multiple streams of income! Hell, by the time I get my 100 or so sites up, I have no doubt that there will be a few more programs I will be running with but I know that once they are up they will continue to make me income.

The reason I would use Wordpress is because it’s free, and the results you get are a lot better. The sites look better, and you can actually make them look professional. Yes, there are a lot of good looking BANS Sites, but with wordpress it’s a lot easier to get those results. And, you can also hide a few pages and stuff them with keywords. I would never put all my eggs in one basket, I was just looking for a little passive income, like you. But from the 50 cents or so I make a week from the sites, I don’t see myself getting to the point where Bans carry me, but multiply that by 100 and I guess it is worth your time.

I guess the appeal with BANS is that it becomes semi-passive after a length of time. However, with the work it takes to do keyword research, write original content for each page, and to set up… it’s simply not a winner. I guess that if you can put one of these out a month, it doesn’t become that much of a drain, and perhaps it sets you up long term.

I have to agree with Nick about using Wordpress though. It’s simpler to set up, and it looks much better.
