Those are the numbers…….a great ‘make money blogging’ blog I have always liked to read is up for sale over at sitepoint

Sitepoint marketplace is a great site I always refer to when checking for new sites to add to my portfolio. Split into sections such as Premium, Established, Turnkey, Domain names and templates for sale; it is a popular place to list your work. I don’t often buy, but it is always good practice to see what is happening around you. There are however, like onemansgoal, some gems that appear once in a while. If you do get tempted though, just be sure to do your due dilligence - in an online world there are always going to be those scammers looking to cash in.

Anyway, last time I looked, onemansgoal was going for $6,500 (US of course) with six days remaining. But is it worth that much? Let’s see some more figures…

Traffic: Between 15k-20k unique visitors per month
- PageRank: PR 4
- Alexa: 80k
- Technorati: 15k ranking

- RSS Readership:Feedburner and Aweber subscribers that total a bit over 700 (and receive weekly newsletters)
- Over 12k backlinks from other sites (according to Yahoo)
- 230 posts and 3,435 comments published
- #53 on 45n5.com’s Top 100 Make Money Online blogs

Looking at that, it’s quite apparent that this site is a good addition to anyone’s portfolio (remember of course that it is always good to have multiple streams of income in this field), I am quite tempted myself actually. With a buy it now price of $10k you are looking at 9-10 months before you see a return on your investment; dnScoop, which is normally quite accurate in valuing established websites, estimates this at close to $8.5k which would still value it at 6-7 months revenue. Looking at it another way though, that would leave you with $6500 profit for the year which makes it sound all the better to me. I am also sure that, with some tweaking, you could get a much better monthly revenue from that sort of traffic which would more than double your investement in one year; and looking at the stock market right now………. thats a very exciting prospect. Anyway you look at it, it’d be a good one to have don’t you think???

Can’t wait to see if the new owner keeps up the good work that Bryan Clark has done with this one.

That name would be perfect for my blog. Of course I wouldn’t have the money to buy that, but still it would work just fine!

I have complete confidence that the new owner is going to do very well with One Man’s Goal. This guy seems like a real gem, and someone that will do well in this market. I’m glad to be able to take a vacation!

It is one of things I can never understand … how people can think that way. It’s so illogical that it can only be based upon moronity.

Yeah, but did you see the kid’s first month earnings report?
    http://onemansgoal.com/371/april-traffic-and-income-report/

He earned 27$ in one month. Ouch!

Also, looks like the site has had its PR “adjusted” down to PR2

Maybe it was all smoke and mirrors by the seller?

@ DSHomebrew - I saw that post and boy was it sad. I know a lot of people have been been following this and that is massive drop in income. Not that it was unexpected though!
